Activating theme extension: Step-by-step guide

Activate the theme extension using the Verify Extension link in the dashboard (if Account ID is missing) or manually through the theme editor. Enter your Account ID and toggle the extension ON.


Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → Find "App embeds" or "Theme extensions" → Toggle "Social Proof Live" ON → Enter Account ID → Save.

Step-by-Step Instructions


Step 1: Open Theme Editor

  • Go to Shopify Admin
  • Click "Online Store""Themes"
  • Find your active theme
  • Click "Customize" button


Step 2: Find App Extensions

  • In theme editor sidebar, look for:
  • "App embeds" section, OR
  • "Theme extensions" section, OR
  • "Apps" section
  • Location varies by theme
  • May be in different sidebar sections


Step 3: Find Social Proof Live

  • Scroll through app extensions list
  • Look for "Social Proof Live" or "Social Proof"
  • May show as app name or extension name
  • If not visible: May need to enable app embeds in theme


Step 4: Activate Extension

  • Find toggle switch next to "Social Proof Live"
  • Toggle switch to ON (enabled/green)
  • Extension should show as active


Step 5: Enter Account ID

  • Click on extension settings (if available)
  • Find "Account ID" field
  • Go to Social Proof Live app → Settings
  • Copy your Account ID
  • Paste into extension Account ID field
  • Verify it matches exactly


Step 6: Save Theme

  • Click "Save" button (top right)
  • Wait for save confirmation
  • Close theme editor


Step 7: Wait and Test

  • Wait 5-10 minutes for changes to take effect
  • Open storefront in new tab
  • Browse a product page
  • Notifications should appear


Troubleshooting:
  • Can't find extension: Check if app is installed, try different theme
  • No Account ID field: Some themes auto-detect, verify in Settings
  • Extension won't activate: Check theme compatibility, contact support
  • Still not working: Verify Account ID matches exactly
