Getting started: First steps after installation

Get your notifications working in 3 simple steps: activate the theme extension, create your first campaign, and wait a few minutes. Your notifications will start appearing on your storefront automatically.

Activate the theme extension, create your first campaign with just a name and notification type, then wait 5-10 minutes for notifications to appear.

Setup Checklist:
  • Copy your Account ID from Settings
  • Activate theme extension in theme editor
  • Create a campaign (Standard mode)
  • Set campaign to Live status
  • Wait 5-10 minutes and test on storefront

Navigation:

After installing Social Proof Live, follow these 3 steps:

Step 1: Get Your Account ID

  1. Click Settings in the top right of the page
  2. Copy your Account ID (you'll need this for the theme extension)

Step 2: Activate Theme Extension

Option 1: Use the Verify Extension Link (Recommended)

  • If your Account ID is missing or incorrect, you'll see a "Verify Extension" section in the app dashboard
  • Click the link in that section - it will take you directly to the theme editor with the extension settings open
  • Enter your Account ID and toggle the extension ON
  • Click "Save"

Option 2: Manual Setup (If you don't see the Verify Extension link)

  1. Go to Shopify AdminOnline StoreThemes
  2. Click "Customize" on your active theme
  3. In the theme editor sidebar, find "App embeds" or "Theme extensions"
  4. Find "Social Proof Live" and toggle it ON
  5. Enter your Account ID in the extension settings
  6. Click "Save"

Step 3: Create Your First Campaign

  1. Click "Create Campaign" → Choose "Standard"
  2. Enter a campaign name (e.g., "Recent Orders Campaign")
  3. Select a notification type (start with "Recent Orders" for beginners)
  4. Click "Create Campaign"
  5. The campaign is automatically set to "Live" with default settings
  6. You can edit all settings later if needed

Wait 5-10 minutes, then visit your storefront (not admin) to see notifications.

Common Mistakes:
  • Forgetting to activate the theme extension (notifications won't show)
  • Testing in admin instead of storefront
  • Not waiting long enough for the script to load

Next Steps:

  • If notifications don't appear, see "Why aren't notifications showing?"
  • Learn about different notification types in "Choosing the right notification type"
