After installing Social Proof Live, follow these 3 steps:
Step 1: Get Your Account ID
- Click Settings in the top right of the page
- Copy your Account ID (you'll need this for the theme extension)
Step 2: Activate Theme Extension
Option 1: Use the Verify Extension Link (Recommended)
- If your Account ID is missing or incorrect, you'll see a "Verify Extension" section in the app dashboard
- Click the link in that section - it will take you directly to the theme editor with the extension settings open
- Enter your Account ID and toggle the extension ON
- Click "Save"
Option 2: Manual Setup (If you don't see the Verify Extension link)
- Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes
- Click "Customize" on your active theme
- In the theme editor sidebar, find "App embeds" or "Theme extensions"
- Find "Social Proof Live" and toggle it ON
- Enter your Account ID in the extension settings
- Click "Save"
Step 3: Create Your First Campaign
- Click "Create Campaign" → Choose "Standard"
- Enter a campaign name (e.g., "Recent Orders Campaign")
- Select a notification type (start with "Recent Orders" for beginners)
- Click "Create Campaign"
- The campaign is automatically set to "Live" with default settings
- You can edit all settings later if needed
Wait 5-10 minutes, then visit your storefront (not admin) to see notifications.
- Forgetting to activate the theme extension (notifications won't show)
- Testing in admin instead of storefront
- Not waiting long enough for the script to load
Next Steps:
- If notifications don't appear, see "Why aren't notifications showing?"
- Learn about different notification types in "Choosing the right notification type"
